About DYHM

I am a ceramic artist with a background as a developer at Samsung Electronics. I have conducted numerous experiments to find my own glaze, during which I discovered that the elements in natural gemstones are similar to those in glazes.

The linear crystalline glaze, made from the elements of rutilated quartz, is born from a special harmony of temperature and time. After all the materials melt at a high temperature of 1300°C, they are held at 1000°C, allowing the crystallites to gradually grow into straight lines.

Unlike typical crystals that form randomly, linear crystals grow in clean lines, just like those formed naturally in rutilated quartz. This process is highly sensitive, and I produce it in very small quantities.

Rutile is harmless to the human body and possesses a unique property of sparkling depending on external light. It glows softly under gentle lighting and shines even more intensely in bright light.

This linear crystalline ceramic, born from the fusion of a developer's obsession and nature, is a special piece that can only be found at dyhm. I hope that through this work, you can feel the beauty of nature and my artistic passion.
