Although it is a small cup, I wanted to make it overwhelmingly strong so that it does not feel small. The owl's eyes matched the intention.
The front is almost completely filled with drawings, and the cup is surrounded by an owl.
The background of the green glaze is sparkling and the owl stands out, so I think it goes well with it.
The owl is drawn realistically, but it is also not realistic. It is divided by black lines like a mosaic. This made the owl a stronger impression.
The color of the owl was expressed by appropriately mixing brown, gray, and black. I tried to give the feeling of continuity rather than separation of colors.
It is also characteristic of this owl painting that irregular brushstrokes express the subtlety that feels regular.
Lastly, I thought a lot about the expression of the eyes as this work started with the eyes of an owl.
I intentionally added a dark color to the bright color to give the eyes a sense of depth. This made the owl's eyes more realistic, making them straighter and more intense.
